Voting FAQ: How does a person vote if they’re in hospital long term?

27 Sep 2013

There are a couple of possibilities for patients who are in hospital during an election.

On Election Day October 21, five local hospitals – Foothills Hospital, Peter Lougheed Centre, Rockyview Hospital, South Campus and Carewest Glenmore Park – will have Voting Stations.

Deputies will go bed-to-bed in the hospital offering every patient who is an eligible elector and resident of Calgary a chance to vote. The same goes for care facilities.

You can find more information on Hospital Voting Stations on the City’s website here.

The alternative to voting at a hospital Voting Station on Election Day is to  apply for a Mail-In (Special) Ballot. Information about this option can be found here.
